It was reported “kids” had been throwing stones, with one of the missiles smashing a bus window.

Stagecoach said routes between Canterbury and Chilham were stopped while a replacement bus was sought.

A spokesperson said no one onboard was injured.

They added: "Targeting any vehicle in this way is incredibly dangerous and we urge anyone with any information who saw young people in the area throwing stones to contact the police."

It is not the first time youngsters have thrown stones at buses, leaving them unable to run.
