Adam Idah shares what has him 'excited' at Celtic amid important upcoming fixtures

Celtic January loan signing Adam Idah will be considered a shrewd piece of business by supporters in light of his excellent form at Parkhead.

Initially, Idah arrived to a divisive reception amid a quiet mid-season transfer window under Brendan Rodgers.

Despite this, the Republic of Ireland international has offered genuine competition for Kyogo Furuhashi in attack, registering seven goals and two assists over 12 appearances in green and white [Transfermarkt].

Soaking up his new-found visibility in Glasgow, the 23-year-old’s telling strikes against Hibernian, Motherwell, and Rangers may be deemed pivotal goals in this year’s title race once we look back.

For now, Idah and Celtic will be keen to go full steam ahead as they eye Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup glory, which would produce a maximum of seven matches to come if all were to go to plan.

Regarding his future at the club, Norwich City are believed to be non-committal over selling the Cork-born man this summer until their own destiny is resolved amid their ongoing fight for a Championship playoff berth.

Supporters are warming to the idea of Idah becoming a permanent fixture at Parkhead; regardless, his main focus will be on grabbing the headlines by continuing his goalscoring form before next steps are determined.

Adam Idah shares excitement as Celtic head into final stretch

Excitement, nerves and anticipation are all feelings Celtic supporters will be experiencing as the post-split fixtures lie in wait. However, before all that, there is the small matter of a Scottish Cup semi-final to take care of against Aberdeen this weekend.

Nevertheless, Idah has revealed he and his teammates are feeling ‘confident’ heading into the run-in, though the dressing room isn’t losing sight of how important our final stretch of games are in the context of the season.

Idah explained [Daily Record]: “Every game in this period is huge. It’s a big stage in the league, and we have the cup. Every game is important now.

“Everyone is feeling confident around the games and in training and we are all looking forward to it. We are excited for it – these are the moments you play football for.”

Confidence is key in pressure situations, and the Bhoys have played with the shackles off in their last few fixtures, scoring 26 goals in eight matches across all competitions.

Despite this, complacency isn’t an option for Celtic, who remain in the driving seat and have their destiny under internal control.
