'Oh my word': David Seaman really loved what he saw from £60k-a-week Wolves star v Nottingham Forest

Wolves earned a point against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon in a game that saw one of Gary O’Neil’s stars earn high praise from David Seaman.

It was an afternoon full of drama for Wolves at the City Ground, as Gary O’Neil duelled Nuno Santo for three points in the Premier League.

For Nottingham Forest, the need for a victory over the Old Gold was at its peak as the hosts sit just one point above the bottom three in what has been a challenging campaign for the Midlands club.

Wolves on the other hand had a win in their aspirations purely to build form having not won in their previous three Premier League matches.

O’Neil watched on as his side took the lead, went behind and then found an equaliser in a thrilling end to the first half and fast start to the second half, with all of the Old Gold’s work in the final third attributable to Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian earned a host of praise for his performance against Forest, where he scored both of the visitors’ goals, leaving David Seaman stunned by one moment of magic.

Matheus Cunha will be crucial to Wolves in the run-in

It was a great shame that the £60k-a-week forward suffered a hamstring injury when he did, just as he was hitting peak form for Wolves after a slow start to life at Molineux.

Prior to his injury, the Brazil international had become an integral part of the way O’Neil’s side played in the final third, showing his worth playing just behind the striker to unleash his full potential.

In his absence, and that of fellow forwards Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto, Wolves lost their footing in the race for a European finish however, with six games remaining, the time is now for the Old Gold to build some form.

Next up for Wolves come Arsenal at Molineux, a game that Cunha must be at his best to make a similar contribution to what he did at the City Ground.
