Melania Trump likely won't attend her husband's trial in the hush money case involving adult movie actress Stormy Daniels, but she reportedly shares his view that the prosecution is unfair.

The former first lady was initially furious after seeing reports in January 2018 that Donald Trump had paid off the film star to conceal their alleged extramarital affair, and headed to Mar-a-Lago to cool off before returning to Washington, D.C. in time for his first State of the Union address, reported the New York Times.

"She has long privately referred to the case involving Ms. Daniels as 'his problem' and not hers," the newspaper reported. "But Mrs. Trump, the former first lady, shares his view that the trial itself is unfair, according to several people familiar with her thinking."

She continues to scour through daily news looking for coverage of herself, which lately turns up in headlines about her husband's trial and his alleged sexual relationship with Daniels.

Melania Trump has also been mentioned in court by New York Justice Juan Merchan as a potential witness.

"All of this could put Mr. Trump on shaky ground with his wife, who has defended him in some critical moments — including when he bragged on tape about grabbing women by their genitals — and withheld her public support in others, like when she did not appear alongside him as he locked up victories on Super Tuesday," the Times reported.
