The 13 players who could leave Arsenal in summer transfer window as Edu plots overhaul

Thirteen players could leave Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window in what is set to be a busy summer for the club.

Arsenal have big plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sporting director Edu has already confirmed that Arsenal have their top targets in mind. However, this summer will not just be about bringing new faces into the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta will also need to offload plenty of his current first-team stars, as well as several senior players who are currently away on loan and have no long-term future in North London.

According to The Athletic, there are thirteen players who the Gunners may seek to cash-in on this summer.

Thirteen players who could leave Arsenal this summer

Cedric Soares

Cedric Soares is set to leave Arsenal as a free agent. The Portuguese full-back has barely featured for the Gunners in recent seasons.

Mohamed Elneny

Like Cedric, Mohamed Elneny will become a free agent in the summer. He has been a great servant to the club and is the longest-serving player in the first-team squad, but there is no longer a place for him at the Emirates Stadium.

Jorginho

Despite the clamour for Arsenal to hand Jorginho a new contract, the midfield veteran’s future is in doubt as his current deal is due to expire at the end of this season.

Thomas Partey

Whilst there can be no doubting his quality, Thomas Partey’s recurrent injury issues mean that Arteta simply cannot rely on him to be fit and available when needed. The Ghanaian has barely featured this season, and at 30-years-old his best days are likely behind him. The time has come for Arsenal to move on from Partey.

Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal are aware that Aaron Ramsdale is certain to leave the club this summer, having lost his starting berth to David Raya. The goalkeeper needs to be playing regular football at this stage in his career.

Fabio Vieira

Since Arsenal paid £34 million to sign Fabio Vieira in the summer of 2022, the Portuguese playmaker has shown flashes of quality but has never really come close to establishing himself as a regular starter. He has fallen down the pecking order in the second half of the season and the Gunners may now be willing to cut their losses on the 23-year-old.

Emile Smith Rowe

Emile Smith Rowe is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. The Hale End academy graduate has seen his career stalled by persistent injuries in the last two seasons, but he has shown that he can shine at the highest level before. Arteta has claimed that Smith Rowe remains in his plans, but a big offer could test the club’s resolve to keep him.

Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal are known to be open to offers on Eddie Nketiah. The striker started the season well, earning an England cap and netting his maiden Premier League hat-trick, but then his form wavered and he has slipped significantly down the pecking order. He needs a fresh start.

Reiss Nelson

Like Nketiah, Reiss Nelson is a homegrown talent who has no future at Arsenal. He has only been handed one Premier League start this season as Arteta clearly lacks faith in the winger.

Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney has admitted that he is not a natural fit for Arteta’s tactical setup at Arsenal. The Scottish left-back is currently on loan with Real Sociedad and is likely to seek pastures new on a permanent basis this summer.

Nuno Tavares

Nuno Tavares was a flop at Arsenal and has flopped on his current loan spell with Nottingham Forest. The Gunners just need to get rid.

Albert Sambi Lokonga

Albert Sambi Lokonga has impressed for Luton Town this season, between injuries. However, it is unlikely that the midfielder has done enough to convince Arteta that he can contribute for Arsenal next season.

Marquinhos

The 21-year-old winger is currently plying his trade on loan back in his native Brazil for Fluminense. A low cost punt on a young player that didn’t work out, Marquinhos is not of the standard required at Arsenal.
