Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Says He Wants to Play 3 More Years After Snapping Achilles First Game of Season

On Wednesday, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent surgery for his torn Achilles tendon, starting the clock for his hopeful return in 2024.

The 40-year-old hopes to continue playing for two or three more seasons, even though the Jets cut him short on the season's opening night.

Rodgers underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon, and he has been in therapy for the past seven months after suffering an injury just four plays into his New York debut. He voluntarily returned to Jets headquarters on Monday ahead of the 2024 season.

On the 'I Can Fly' podcast, he admitted that he feared his injury might end his career. He said, "I was really thinking: "This is it. You don't come back from this injury." A person close to Rodgers said he feels he is now where he wanted to be when he moved to New York last year.

Mail Sport knows that Rodgers believes he is running faster than before getting hurt.

Rodgers was miraculously approved to return to the field four months after the injury. However, the quarterback stayed off the field due to New York's failure to reach the playoffs.

Furthermore, he has been working out all off-season and was recently spotted working out hard with USC players in California.

Rodgers and the Jets agreed to a new two-year contract in July 2023, with $75 million guaranteed through the 2024 season.

Last month, Jets coach Robert Saleh said he is on a mission to do many things he wanted last year and will continue until he gets it done.

Recently, Rodgers expressed his excitement about his return to the field on the 'I Can Fly' podcast.
