Ukrainian law enforcement has identified 161 Ukrainian children in Germany. They were all abducted by Russian aggressors and deported to Belarus or the Russian Federation, according to the head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
"Thanks to our cooperation with law enforcement agencies of Germany in documenting Russian war crimes, namely the deportation and forced displacement of Ukrainian children, the whereabouts of 161 Ukrainian children have been established in Germany, who were sought as forcibly displaced to temporarily occupied territories or deported to the Russian Federation and Belarus," he said.
Deportation of Ukrainian children
Since the onset of Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine, the deportation of Ukrainian children to the occupied territories of Crimea, Belarus, and remote regions of the Russian Federation has become a horrifying reality. These atrocities have not gone unpunished: the International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued arrest warrants for dictator Vladimir Putin and Russia's children's rights ombudsperson Mariya Lvova-Belova for crimes related to the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
Recently, Ukraine achieved a victory by freeing nine children who were forced to attend Russian schools in the occupied territories and subjected to harsh pro-Russian propaganda.
