A full matchday guide to the Europa Conference League second leg match between Lille vs Aston Villa.

Unai Emery’s side are set to travel to Lille, France looking to reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

Villa are the favourites to win the tournament and are aiming to end their nearly 30-year trophyless run.

However, on their route to Athens, the Birmingham side must overcome French outfit Lille. Villa comes into the second leg with a one-goal advantage after their 2-1 victory at Villa Park.

This was soon followed up with a fantastic 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates where plenty of the first-team put on a show.

Now, in preparation for their European tie, here is what matchday fans need to know about Villa’s European quarter-final.

Lille vs Aston Villa: Pre-match activities

Fans will have plenty to do before the game if they arrive early in France. While Lille might not be lavished in pubs compared to some English cities there are plenty of popular drinking choices.

Irish bar Tir Na Nog has been a popular choice for many English travelling fans over the years. The main area for nightlife is the Rue de Solférino, nicknamed ‘Funky Street’ if fans are preparing to go out to celebrate after the match.

Lille vs Aston Villa: How to get to Stade Pierre-Mauroy

If you are planning to go to Lille via train. The two main stations, Lille Europe and Lille Flandres provide easy routes to the stadium. For both, a Metro is available that will get you to the ground within 30 minutes, including a 15-minute walking time. Alternatively, fans can opt to walk to the stadium but this could take over an hour.

If fans plan on reaching France via plane. Lille airport is around 10 minutes away from the stadium by car. Alternatively, there is an Aeroport that can take you within 15 minutes of the ground.

Lille vs Aston Villa: Where do away fans sit?

Villa fans will be located in the southeast corner of the stadium. This will be directly opposite the Ultras section of Lille. With 2,599 Villa fans set to make the journey to France, it will no doubt be a cracking atmosphere for the Birmingham side’s first European quarter-final this century.
