In December 2023, French law enforcement authorities arrested the Rivery villa associated with Vladimir Putin's former wife, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, according to Challenges.

According to the agency's sources, the villa belonged to Russian Artur Ocheretny, the current husband of Putin's former wife.

The villa is located in Anglet, near Biarritz. The Paris prosecutor's office conducted searches there earlier.

In addition to Ocheretny's villa, the properties of several Kremlin-connected oligarchs, such as Gennady Timchenko, the Rotenberg brothers, and businessman Sergey Tonki, are also under scrutiny.

Rivery villa

The Rivery villa was built in 1930. Initially, it was named the "Susanna" villa after the widow of a London banker, who sponsored its construction.

According to OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project), Artur Ocheretny purchased the 5,000-square-meter property in December 2013 for 5.4 million euros.

Last year, we reported that Vladimir Putin's former wife, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, enriched herself during Russia's war against Ukraine, which in turn affected the indebtedness of ordinary Russians.

It was also reported that Ocheretnaya started selling apartments in an elite residential complex in Marbella, Spain.
