Reiss Nelson reveals 'amazing' thing Arteta has achieved behind the scenes at Arsenal

Reiss Nelson has now credited Mikel Arteta with having an enormous positive impact on one aspect of daily life at Arsenal.

There is currently a positive mood in the Arsenal camp.

Despite Sunday’s disappointing defeat against Aston Villa, which dented the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes, the North London club are undoubtedly on the up.

Mikel Arteta has built a young squad that is hungry for success, and has made Arsenal genuine Premier League title contenders once again.

The manager has also worked hard to remove negative influences from the dressing room. This meant making some bold decisions to exclude some big name players earlier on in his tenure.

Reiss Nelson has now provided an insight into what life is like at Arsenal on a day-to-day basis under Arteta, and how well he and his teammates all get along.

As quoted by the club’s official website, the 24-year-old winger said, “it’s amazing. I’ve been a part of loads of different groups here, coming through the age groups, and I feel like there’s no divide at all between any of the players here. I feel like any player or any of the staff can go and sit on any table here and speak to anyone. And the good thing is we know each other so well that we don’t have to just speak about football. It can be about anything, and that’s really nice. I think the boss has done really well to get that team camaraderie, where everybody gets together and understands each other on a personal level. It’s really good.”

Senior Arsenal players are stepping up behind the scenes

This togetherness is hugely important, and such positivity off the pitch can help contribute to success on it. Arteta will be delighted to hear Nelson’s assessment of the mood amongst the players.

Plenty of players are taking responsibility within the club, too. Jorginho has adopted a mentoring role, whilst Oleksandr Zinchenko has helped Jakub Kiwior to settle in England. These actions all come about by virtue of a positive and welcoming club environment.

Nelson has been on the books at Arsenal since 2008, so has seen hundreds of players come and go at both senior and academy level. He is perfectly placed to judge the current setup and is clearly delighted to be a part of it.

Nelson may well be coming to the end of his time at Arsenal, but he will be enjoying his time at the Emirates Stadium for as long as he remains on the payroll.
