Report: 'Outstanding' Spurs star has now been offered to AC Milan, just five days after Postecoglou praised him

A Tottenham Hotspur player has just been offered to Italian giants AC Milan.

Spurs have a lot of work to do in the remainder of the season. They are currently a place and three points below Aston Villa but Ange Postecoglou‘s side do have a game in hand.

There’s still every chance that Tottenham will qualify for next season’s Champions League, and if that happens, they will need to do some serious business in the summer transfer window.

Spurs need reinforcements in defence, midfield and attack, but before they address that, they will have to get rid of a few of their players.

One midfielder has reportedly been offered to AC Milan, who are looking to strengthen the middle of their park.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to AC Milan update emerges but there’s a problem

Tottenham signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton in the summer of 2020 for just £15 million (Sky Sports).

The Dane immediately became an integral part of Jose Mourinho‘s side and that continued when Antonio Conte replaced him at the helm.

Hojbjerg was always one of the first names on the team sheet, but since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival last summer, he has fallen down the pecking order.

The 28-year-old is no longer the first choice at Spurs, and all signs are pointing towards an exit in the upcoming summer transfer window.

CalcioMercato claim this week that Hojbjerg has been offered to AC Milan. The Rossoneri are on the market to strengthen their midfield, and they have quite a few options.

Milan’s preferred choice for the midfield is Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, but in recent days, Tottenham star Hojbjerg, along with Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat, have been offered to the Italian club.

Spurs would surely love to move Hojbjerg on this summer, but the problem for the North London club is that Milan, at the moment, don’t seem too keen on the Dane because of ‘personal and economic reasons’.

Hojbjerg, who is still an ‘outstanding‘ player on his day, will enter the final year of his Tottenham contract this summer.

What Ange Postecoglou said about Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg just five days ago

It is very clear that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not happy with his situation at Tottenham.

The Dane is at the stage of his career where he would like to start every game, but unfortunately for him, that doesn’t seem likely at Tottenham anymore.

However, Hojbjerg has come on as a substitute regularly this season, and Ange Postecoglou seems very happy with the midfielder’s performances off the bench. He has been impressed with him in training as well.

Postecogloupraised Hojbjerg just five days ago and also suggested that it’s good to have someone like the former Bayern Munich man available at his disposal.

“Pierre has been good. He hasn’t started as many games probably as he would like but whenever we have needed him he has done a good job,” he said.

“From our perspective, we are in a good place at the moment, where I can make these changes within games or between games.”
