Tim McGraw’s Nephew Signs Record Deal: Who Is Timothy Wayne?

Proving that musical talent runs in the family, Tim McGraw‘s nephew Timothy Wayne has signed his first record deal with UMG Nashville. It’s a major career move for the Louisiana State sophomore, who is already working on his first album.

“I’m so excited to have this opportunity to make and record music with UMG Nashville,” Wayne shares. “This has been a dream of mine, and I am working hard on music that I can’t wait to share with everyone.”

Wayne documented his signing on social media, teasing new music would be coming soon.

“Timothy Wayne has been honing his craft, his songs and his sound around the students and college scene of LSU,” says Cindy Mabe, Chair & CEO, UMG Nashville. “He’s bringing a new generation of core country music fans to his experiences of growing up around Nashville and country music as well as the country boy lifestyle he is living.”

“He’s such a charismatic, outgoing, genuine artist, and it’s exciting to watch Timothy build his era of country music and bring in a rabid fan base of youth culture into country music,” she adds.

Tim McGraw Is Bringing His Nephew Timothy Wayne on Tour

When McGraw first announced his 2024 Standing Room Only Tour, he only listed Carly Pearce as his direct support for the trek.

Shortly after, the “One Bad Habit” singer invited several younger artists to join him for select shows. One of those up-and-coming artists is Wayne — alongside others including Abby Anderson, Randall King, Restless Road and more.

It appears Wayne will be joining his uncle for the last several shows on the tour, scheduled for June 20-29. This gives him plenty of time to hone his skills further and craft the perfect songs to debut in front of a large audience.

“Looking forward to seeing this kick off!” Wayne writes on social media.

Timothy Wayne Has Sung for Randy Travis

It may not have been in an official show capacity, but Wayne had the opportunity to show off his vocal chops in front of the legendary Randy Travis. The moment came backstage at CMA Fest 2023, and it was caught on video. Travis shared the clip on TikTok.

“I can’t tell you how much it meant to see Tim McGraw and Faith last night at Country Music Association Fest,” the country veteran writes. “We don’t get to see each other often enough — they are lights! And we loved meeting their nephew Timothy!”
