The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $78 million with a cash option of $36.5 million.
The winning numbers were: 24, 29, 44, 47 and 54. The Powerball drawn was 2, with a Power Play of 2X.
No one across the country hit Monday’s $67 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold.
In New Jersey, athird-prize, $50,000 ticket was bought by a player who made the purchase with the Jackpocket app. It matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Monday’s winning numbers were: 7, 16, 41, 56 and 61. The Powerball drawn was 23, with a Power Play of 3X.
In addition, no one won the secondary $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 3, 25, 52, 60 and 64. The Double Play number drawn was 17. There were also no second-prize tickets worth $500,000 purchased nationally.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $178 million with a cash option of $79.6 million.
