Phil Parkinson has revealed how Wrexham will prepare for their test against Crewe Alexandra following promotion.
Wrexham reached League One for the first time since 2005 as they hammered Forest Green Rovers 6-0 last weekend.
The Reds will have partied long into the night after sealing back-to-back promotions for the first time in their history, with Phil Parkinson‘s soaking in the occasion.
After all, success like this doesn’t come around often, so everyone associated with the football club has a right to get carried away in celebration.
Historically, the match after sealing promotion can often result in a below-par performance as managers notoriously rotate their squad or the players still feel the effects of their hangover.
To ensure complacency doesn’t slip into their game, Parkinson has explained how Wrexham will prepare for their trip to Crewe Alexandra.

Wrexham may have sealed promotion to League One, but another prize is on offer for the Reds this season.
Parkinson’s men are battling with Mansfield Town for that second spot. Wrexham are locked on 82 points with the Stags heading into the final two matches.
Saturday’s penultimate game against Crewe, a side battling for a playoff spot, kicks off at 12:30pm and Parkinson isn’t taking any chances.
“We will get the preparation right. It is an early kick-off so we are going overnight, we are doing it properly,” he told The Leader.
Wrexham can end League Two season in style
Wrexham can end their short League Two journey in style by leapfrogging Mansfield into second and breaking a six-year record for most goals scored at home in a single campaign.
It’s an opportunity for Parkinson to rotate his squad and use individuals who may have played their final games for the club, including Ben Tozer, Luke Young and Steven Fletcher.
The hard part has been completed and without the pressure of promotion weighing heavy on their shoulders, Wrexham can release the shackles and play with freedom.
In truth, the Reds have done that in recent weeks – despite the pressure of finishing in the top three – having put four past Crawley Town and six past Forest Green.
Parkinson will want to continue this momentum for the remainder of the campaign, as suffering losses in their final two games can impact their mentality negatively.
They’ll want to continue their winning streak into the summer while using that momentum to get their League One campaign off to a flyer.
