'He's doing very well': Granit Xhaka really impressed by player Daniel Levy sold at Tottenham

Former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has delivered his verdict on a player who has been ‘doing very well’ since leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swiss international spent seven years as a Gunner in North London. He was always a key player for them and produced several excellent performances in the famous red and white.

Xhaka moved to Bayer Leverkusen last summer and quickly became one of the first names on Xabi Alonso‘s team sheet.

The midfielder played a massive part in the middle of the park and he is among the biggest reasons why Leverkusen won their first-ever Bundesliga title last weekend.

Now, Xhaka has had his say on a player who used to play for Tottenham.

Granit Xhaka responds to funny Arsenal-related question about Harry Kane

Granit Xhaka and Harry Kane both left North London together last summer in search of a new challenge.

The two players were key members of Arsenal and Tottenham respectively, and losing them was viewed as a blow by many, especially with regard to Spurs.

Xhaka won a couple of FA Cups during his time at Arsenal, while Kane, unfortunately for him, didn’t get to lift any silverware at Tottenham.

That was expected to change for Kane when he joined Bayern Munich, but Xhaka has ended up becoming the Bundesliga ahead of the England captain.

Arsenal fans, as you can imagine, have found that to be hilarious, and a journalist took that opportunity to ask Xhaka a question about the same.

“Have you had messages from Arsenal fans? Some of them are pleased that Harry Kane has not won anything because of yourselves,” asked a reporter in a press conference yesterday.

Xhaka couldn’t help but smile at the question, but he gave a very professional response and praised Kane for what he has done since leaving Tottenham.

He said: “This is part of football but we know everyone how much quality Harry Kane has. He’s doing very well at Bayern Munich as well.

“You get the message but this has nothing to do with personality. Great to have the chance to play against great players. In the end, we were the happiest team to win the league.”

Tottenham fans will love what Harry Kane has done

Tottenham haven’t missed Harry Kane as much as people thought they would, but you can’t help but wonder where Spurs would be right now if the Englishman had stayed.

Kane received a very good offer from Bayern, and after a number of trophy-less years at Tottenham, he decided to take the opportunity and moved to Germany. Daniel Levy gave the green light after receiving £100 million (Sky Sports) for his star striker.

Granit Xhaka may have won the Bundesliga title ahead of Kane, but the England captain helped Bayern Munich knock Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal out of the Champions League last night.

As you can imagine, Tottenham fans were absolutely delighted to see their old talisman, as well as Eric Dier, end the Gunners’ hopes of going all the way in the competition.

Only time will tell now if Kane will finally end his trophy drought by winning the Champions League this season.
