‘No doubt’: Craig Levein makes Celtic claim after Rangers’ Dens Park draw

Rangers draw at Dens Park has opened up a whole can of worms as Celtic sit pretty at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The criticism now being levied at the Ibrox club is now off the scale but for Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic boss now has a nice cushion heading into the final five games of the season.

Nothing is being taken for granted, especially by the Celtic fans and Rodgers will have his team prepared with that message after the Scottish Cup tie against Aberdeen is concluded.

But for Craig Levein, he has now made a claim about the title race after watching Rangers drop points in the 0-0 draw against Dundee last night.

Craig Levein makes Celtic title favourites

The St Johnstone manager was on punditry duty for the BBC last night and said that Rangers’ last two results have caused a swing in the title race.

Levein said [Scottish Football Podcast], “There’s no doubt that these last two matches are a real severe blow to the title hopes.

“But there’s still five games left. Rangers are maybe suffering a little bit of a lack of confidence at the moment so you probably favour Celtic.

“But I don’t know. I don’t know. There’s still time for Rangers yet, but they need to play an awful lot better than they did tonight or on Sunday.”

As I said, nothing will be taken for granted by the Celtic support. If anything, watching Dundee’s performance against Rangers last night proves that when we go to Dens Park on the 28th, we will be in for a tough game.

We also need to watch out for the trip to Kilmarnock. Celtic have lost twice at Rugby Park this season already and will need to be on top of their game against Derek McInnes’ side.

Whilst the swing in the title race now favours Celtic, there is no doubt there is still a long way to go yet before anything is decided.
