Piers Morgan makes Arsenal transfer plea after ‘painful’ thing he noticed in Bayern defeat

Piers Morgan has issued an Arsenal transfer plea after noticing one ‘painful’ thing in last night’s defeat against Bayern Munich.

The north London side were unable to continue the European dream as Bayern put Arsenal to the sword in a 1-0 loss for the Gunners, with Joshua Kimmich’s second-half goal the difference-maker in what was a frustrating night.

With the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli criticized for their attacking performance, Arsenal’s quality in the final-third is what ultimately let Mikel Arteta’s side down, who overall controlled the game well and limited Bayern to very few chances.

Yet a transfer plea has now been made from one of Arsenal’s more influential supporters.

Arsenal urged to sign striker after ‘painful’ Bayern Munich defeat

Taking to Twitter, broadcaster Morgan made the plea that Arsenal need to sign a ‘proper striker’ after last night’s performance, with the celebrity personality writing: “God we need a proper striker so badly. This is painful.”

With Arsenal already linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres, there’s a more than likely chance that Edu Gaspar will be moving for a top-quality striker in the summer transfer window.

Given how wasteful and flat Arsenal were in front of goal last night, the fixture highlighted just how badly the north London side need a world-class forward to lead the line and to get the best out of Saka and Martinelli.

And as controversial as he is, Morgan’s transfer plea last night is one that many Arsenal fans will agree with, with wholesale changes in the attack seemingly on the way in the upcoming months.

Arsenal need a Champions League-proven centre-forward

A lack of experience is being lamented as one of the main reasons why Arsenal fell out of Europe this season, as well as the absence of a truly brilliant centre-forward who can create something out of nothing.

And Arsenal can kill two birds with one stone this summer with a move for a striker who is proven in the Champions League, though this search could minimise the pool of available targets greatly.

Indeed, the search for a new striker will be an interesting one to follow this summer, yet there’s a strong chance that Morgan and many Arsenal fans will get their wish in a world-class forward being signed in the coming months.
