'He ain't good enough': Jamie O'Hara says Arsenal star goes missing when they need him most

It was a disappointing night for Arsenal in the Champions League as they suffered defeat to Bayern Munich at The Allianz Arena – with many of Mikel Arteta’s key man struggling to perform at their best.

Following the first leg which ended in a 2-2 draw at The Emirates, Arsenal needed to secure a result in Germany in order to progress to the last four. But Bayern did a job, Thomas Tuchel’s tactics working.

It was Joshua Kimmich that scored the only goal of the game, heading in a cross from Raphael Guerreiro – with Ben White failing to close the Portugal left-back down quick enough. A brilliant goal, winning the tie.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice struggled to have much of a say during the 1-0 defeat. Indeed, Arteta’s side could not stop Bayern – with experience proving to prevail last night.

Arsenal players struggle to shine against Bayern, like Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz is another, who’s really improved in the last couple of months after a difficult start – following his move from Chelsea. Ian Wright says he “couldn’t see” him improving as he has done after the start.

In his last eight Premier League games, Havertz has scored five goals and laid on four assists. But he couldn’t continue that form against Bayern – despite having face them many times while at Leverkusen.

Speaking after the match on TalkSPORT, former Tottenham midfielder discussed Arsenal’s £60m signing from Chelsea. He says the Germany attacker goes missing in big matches, when it matters the most.

“He ain’t good enough, he ain’t. He can do a job playing as a no.9 but when it comes to playing against the big boys, the crunch moments, he doesn’t do it,” O’Hara said about Havertz, on Wednesday evening.

Jamie O’Hara also picked his man of the match against Arsenal

Speaking after the match, O’Hara was clearly in good spirits after watching his old side’s rivals lose at the quarter-final stage to Bayern. Arsenal can be praised though, for their campaign as a whole this term.

A Champions League quarter-final for the first time in 14 years. Still in the title race, just two points off Man City. It has been a wonderful season for Arsenal and could get even better. The title race is open.

But it was Bayern that were excellent last night and Eric Dier starred at the back, given a start over Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. O’Hara claimed he was man of the match, as Bayern knocked Arsenal out.
