Klopp could now start 'terrific' 21-year-old for Liverpool tonight, he's 'got everything' he needs to succeed - opinion

Liverpool haven’t had a great few days, it has to be said. The Reds are now at a disadvantage in the Premier League title race and face an uphill climb to progress in the Europa League.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool charges are currently third in the table, level with Arsenal on 71 points but two behind table-topping Manchester City.

Liverpool also fell to a dismal 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in last week’s Europa League quarter-final first leg at Anfield. The Italians took the game to the Reds with great success.

The Reds will now hope to take the game to Atalanta on their own turf and hope to get an early goal which could unsettle the hosts.

With that in mind, Klopp needs to select a really creative side that could give the Serie A side a hard time from the off.

And we reckon the Liverpool boss will select Harvey Elliott in his starting XI with the intention of being as creative as possible.

Why should Harvey Elliott be in Liverpool starting XI against Atalanta?

The 21-year-old has become a key member of the Reds squad this season, but he’s still not getting as many starts as maybe he should be getting.

Elliott is an ‘absolutely exceptional‘ and ‘terrific‘ talent who’s ‘got everything‘ he needs to succeed.

Therefore, it would be great to see him in the Liverpool XI tonight, where he can showcase his talent and energy.

We also predict Klopp to pick Dominik Szoboszlai to partner Elliott in midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister as the No. 6.

It wasn’t that long ago that Liverpool overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals by winning 4-0 at Anfield in the second leg.

And while this game takes place away from home, an early goal would go a long way to unsettling Atalanta nerves.

Liverpool have done this sort of thing before, there’s no reason why they can’t do it again.
