‘Probably the best’: Joe Cole says he’d love to play with £51m West Ham player

Say what you will about David Moyes’ style of play, but West Ham United have some of the most entertaining players in the Premier League.

Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen are absolute joys to watch, and West Ham do have a brilliant history of fielding some of the Premier League’s most eye-catching footballers.

Indeed, the likes of Dimitri Payet and Said Benrahma have been very entertaining over the years, but perhaps the pick of the bunch was Joe Cole.

The England international was such a silky player, and now, speaking to TNT Sports, the former Hammer has named the current West Ham player he’d most liked to have played with.

The West Ham player Joe Cole would like to play with

Cole discussed some players he’d like to play alongside and he named Lucas Paqueta as the player he’d most like to work with.

“At West Ham, Paqueta, I’d liked to have played with Paqueta. He would, I think he is probably the best player outside of the top three teams

Imagine Cole and Lucas Paqueta

We can only imagine how good a team that had Cole and Paqueta in would be.

It may not be the most balanced midfield of all-time, but it would be beautiful to watch these two working in tandem on the same pitch.

Paqueta and Cole are perhaps the two best players on the ball West Ham have had this millennium, and they would be able to run rings around any opponent if they played together.

Unfortunately, just like Cole, it looks as though Paqueta may be poached this summer by one of the Premier League big boys in the same way Cole was by Chelsea all those years ago, but even if Paqueta is to leave east London prematurely, the £51m man surely go down as one of the Hammers’ modern greats.
