15-year-old Manchester United whizkid scores hattrick for U15s vs Bolton

The Carrington conveyor belt seems to be never-ending as Manchester United U15s seem to be in possession of another top talent.

For Manchester United using the academy has long been a massive part of the club’s ethos and it’s seen some real success stories in recent years.

Erik ten Hag has taken full advantage of the excellent academy players and this season he’s turned Kobbie Mainoo from prospect to superstar.

Alejandro Garnacho is another to recently make the step up, while every week, the Dutch manager has called new players up to first-team training, such as Shea Lacey last week.

The next generation of youngsters is believed to be even more exciting than the current, with the U18s winning their Premier League title this week.

But there are several exciting talents even younger than this, now one of them has scored a hat trick.

Edward Fletcher stars for Manchester United U15s

On Wednesday night, the United U15 side defeated Bolton 3-1 with Edward Fletcher scoring all three goals, as he confirmed on his Instagram account following the game.

Fletcher scoring three is an impressive feat and he seems to regularly be putting his name in the headlines, more than his teammates do anyway.

This is a positive sign and something we’ve seen the likes of Amir Ibragimov and Lacey do in recent years before they became household names among the fanbase.

The 15-year-old also made the headlines in March when he scored on his international youth debut for Serbia. He is definitely a player we’re keen to keep an eye on over the next few years.

Who is Edward Fletcher?

It’s pretty incredible to think that Fletcher wasn’t even born the last time United lifted the Champions League back in 2008.

Fletcher only turns 16 in September which should see him be in the U16 side and potentially the U18 side next season at some point.

Interestingly, Fletcher’s full name is Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher, which demonstrates his Serbian heritage.

He certainly looks like a top talent in the attacking midfield position and is possibly the next big exciting talent to emerge from the younger age categories at Carrington.

We cannot wait to see how he does in his career. Keep an eye on Fletcher over the next few years as he could be special.
