Rory Loy gives three 'huge' reasons why Celtic will be crowned champions this season

The past seven days have been huge for Celtic in terms of the title race.

Mainly due to the fact that Rangers have dropped points against Ross County and Dundee but also because Brendan Rodgers’ side has found some very good form as the Celtic boss welcomes some of his big hitters back to the first team.

The Scottish Cup now awaits Celtic on Saturday but as the fallout of Rangers’ draw with Dundee continues, BBC pundit and former Ibrox player, Rory Loy, has given three reasons why Celtic will be crowned champions come the end of the season.

Celtic ‘firm’ favourites for Scottish Premiership title

The brilliant thing about this is that Loy was speaking before Rangers dropped points last night so it will be interesting to hear his thoughts now that Brendan Rodgers‘ side is three points clear with a much better goal difference to boot. [SPFL]

When asked who he thought was the favourite for the Scottish Premiership title, Loy was in no doubt that it was Celtic and he even gave three reasons why.

Loy said [BBC Radio Scotland], “My opinion? Celtic. With Cameron Carter-Vickers, Hatate and Callum McGregor back I think they have a slightly stronger first eleven.

“And you look at the run-in as well, outside of the Old F*rm game, I think Celtic’s fixtures, on paper, look a lot more favourable.

“I think that Ross County game at the weekend is a huge blow. I still fancied Celtic even before Sunday but I still think Celtic are firm, firm favourites to win the league.”

As I have said all morning, nothing is being taken for granted by the Celtic fans. Whilst we enjoy seeing our rivals slip up, we know that Celtic must remain focused when league duty resumes against Dundee on the 28th of April.
