Meghan Markle trolled by her own brother in 'grotesque' video - 'Ultimate betrayal'

Thomas Markle Jr. has recently been criticized for “trolling” his sister, Meghan Markle, in a YouTube video that’s gone viral.

It perhaps doesn’t even need to be said, but let’s: Meghan Markle is certainly no stranger to the act of trolling. The 42-year-old wife of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been dragged online more times than can probably be fathomed. She and her husband stepped down as working royals in January 2020, relocating and starting a new life in Southern California, where Meghan was born. There was a lot of criticism aimed at her ahead of March 2021, but after she sat for an Oprah interview that month, trolling only increased. Now, it’s coming from her brother…

Meghan’s brother Thomas Markle Jr. trolls her in YouTube video

Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s estranged brother, has launched a tirade against his royal sister in an 87-minute video posted to YouTube on Wednesday, April 17th 2024.

Donning a wig for the video, the 57-year-old attempts to impersonate Meghan. “My name’s Me-gain Swamp-donkey Crotch,” he begins, mocking her voice. “I was just showing off the new bump I bought used on eBay out of Montecito,” he continues, a pillow stuffed into his shirt to parody pregnancy. “… If you don’t like it, don’t watch, right?” But there’s more.

“It’s not just your freedom of speech, Meghan,” he addresses the camera. “It’s everybody’s freedom of speech. I’m gonna be riding those coat-tails, baby. Oh, yeah, if it wasn’t for Meghan Markle, I don’t know what I’d be doing.”

There are actually numerous videos of him taking aim at his sister. Across the videos, which he calls “shows”, he not only mocks her for her behavior, appearance, etc. but also brings up her children.

He’s slammed for ‘grotesque’ trolling videos

An assortment of people have quickly reacted to the recent “Me-gain” video of Thomas.

Jennie Bond, a royal commentator, called the monologue “grotesque” and more when speaking with the Daily Mail. “To have your own flesh and blood lead the assault must feel like the ultimate betrayal for Meghan,” she commented.

British politician Damian Collins told the publication that the videos from Thomas could constitute harassment. “The major social media companies must do more to combat harmful content on their platforms,” he argued, “including campaigns of harassment and intimidation.”

One member of the public recently tweeted that they wish to call out bad behavior on both sides: “Thomas Markle Jr’s video is in bad taste. You blew any credibility you could’ve had, TM Jr. This video makes Meghan Markle look aristocratic by comparison.”

Others have simply dismissed Thomas’ behavior online as childish “trolling”, and reactions continue to pour in.

The Duchess hasn’t responded to the videos.
