Forbes reveals Joe Biden’s net worth

Joe Biden

The sitting United States president is, in the end, a federal employee when it comes to receiving a paycheck.

The president’s salary is currently $400,000 a year, per a 2001 monetary upgrade from Congress. Joe Biden, meanwhile, is doing a bit better than that, according to a Forbes report on his latest tax returns.

“Biden and First Lady Jill Biden earned $620,000 before taxes last year, according to their 2023 tax return, which the White House released on Monday. That’s a 7% increase from the $580,000 the couple reported making in 2022, a difference that mostly came from a jump in their interest income,” according to the report.

And for the couple’s net worth: “Forbes estimates Joe and Jill Biden’s fortune still stands at $10 million, the same as in August when the couple’s net worth was last calculated. Biden was worth $8 million when he took office, according to Forbes’estimates.”

More from Forbes: “In addition to Joe Biden’s $400,000 paycheck for being president and the $86,000 Jill Biden made as a professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College, the Bidens pocketed $55,000 in Social Security benefits, $35,000 from pensions and annuities and $39,000 in interest. The interest income increased dramatically from 2022, when they reported making $6,000. Jill Biden earned an additional $4,000 in book royalties, which was paid to an LLC the Bidens use for their writing and speaking engagements. They funneled $20,000 of their income to 17 different charitable organizations, including the Beau Biden Foundation, Ebenezer Baptist Church and a few Catholic churches.”
