German drone manufacturer opens second facility in Ukraine

New production facility was opened during visit of German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy Robert Habeck to Kyiv on April 18.

Quantum Systems Vector reconnaissance drones are used in Ukraine since May 2022. Ukraine already received 212 systems through German Enablement Initiative.

It is planned to supply 500 Quantum Systems reconnaissance drones to Ukraine by the end of the year.

New manufacturing facility is expected to increase production capacity to 1.000 drones per year, including production of spare parts.

New plant will be company's second facility in Ukraine and will employ about 100 people by the end of the year. It will produce both drones and spare parts.

Quantum-Systems will invest up to $6.4 million in new production facility over the next two years.

"For company, this is a vote of confidence in Ukraine and its employees," Quantum Systems said.

"At the same time, it demonstrates company's own commitment to provide Ukraine with long-term support in defense of the country."

In June 2023, German manufacturer of reconnaissance drones Quantum Systems opened a maintenance and logistics center in Ukraine in support of contracts with Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
