Budanov explains how Ukraine destroys Russian strategic aviation

The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, revealed the specific weapons that Ukrainian soldiers use to destroy Russian strategic aircraft, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Budanov explained how Ukraine can conduct targeted strikes on military aircraft that are strategically important to the Russian army.

"Different systems are used. This time we used what we made from scratch from old components. We modernized it a bit. The engineers have done a good job, believe me," the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine said.

Today, April 19, as a result of a successful operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in cooperation with the Air Force, for the first time during the full-scale invasion, a long-range strategic bomber Tu-22M3 was destroyed.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources, the Tu-22M3 was shot down by the S-200 surface-to-air missile system.

Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov also emphasized that the shooting down of the Russian bomber could impact the situation in the Odesa region.
