It looks as though Arsenal will be in the market for a new midfielder this summer.
Indeed, the north London club have been linked with a number of midfield players heading into the next transfer window.
The likes of Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz have been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates, and, interestingly, Luiz has now made some comments about another Arsenal target.
Joao Palhinha is a player the Gunners have reportedly had an eye on, and speaking to Mail Sport, Luiz has stated that Palhinha is one of the best midfielders in the world right now, putting him ahead of the likes of N’Golo Kante and Kobbie Mainoo.

The Aston Villa star spoke about the £17m Arsenal target.
“Palhinha or Jorginho?” Luiz was asked.
“Palhinha,” Luiz said.
“Palhinha or Joelinton?
“Palhinha,” Luiz said.

“Palhinha,” Luiz said.
“Palhinha or Kante?
“Palhinha,” Luiz said.

Luiz says that Palhinha is one of the best in the business, and he’s not wrong.
The Portuguese star is often overlooked in these conversations due to the fact he plays for Fulham, but make no mistake about it, Palhinha is up there with the best in the Premier League, and he could be perfect for Arsenal.
Arsenal need someone who can act as a screen for the defence and allow Declan Rice to play a more expansive role, and Palhinha ticks that box in a way that perhaps no other player in world football does.
Palhinha is a top player, and while Fulham fans won’t like to hear this, he’s very much worthy of a move to a bigger club this summer.
Whether or not that club ultimately proves to be Arsenal remains to be seen.
