Carney Chukwuemeka picks Raheem Sterling as a better player than 2021 Chelsea Champions League winner

Carney Chukwuemeka has now sided with his current Chelsea teammate in a debate over who the better player is.

A video on the club’s official TikTok page sees the youngster select Raheem Sterling in a battle with a Champions League hero on who the better player was.

Sterling has had mostly a season to forget this time around at Stamford Bridge, culminating with an all-time uncomfortable performance at Stamford Bridge against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

Supporters quickly turned on the senior player, with him missing a hatful of great chances including a penalty taken from the hands of Cole Palmer.

Chukwuemeka defends Sterling

One of the players who came out to defend him after the game though was Chukwuemeka, who had scored a decisive late goal in that game after being subbed on to the pitch.

He stated that Sterling was like a big brother to him, and that seems to have been obvious in the fact that he just couldn’t not pick him in a battle of who was better out of him and a former Blue.

Chukwuemeka picks Sterling over Giroud

He was selected over Olivier Giroud, who of course was part of the side who brought the Champions League back to West London in 2021.

His impact on the side and how underrated he ended up being have seen him become somewhat of a cult hero, and many supporters will perhaps take issue with Chuwuemeka’s early dismissal of him.

It remains to be seen if either of Sterling or Chukwuemeka are handed the start in the FA Cup semi-final tomorrow against Manchester City.

The former was absent from the last Premier League against Everton due to illness, with it being claimed since that he actually lost a lot of weight after a bout of food poisoning, although he is back in training now.
