Starbucks employees are already reporting the arrival of new boba summer drinks

Starbucks employees are already reporting the arrival of ingredients for rumored Summer drinks centered around the Taiwanese delicacy, boba.

Despite having a busy year of new releases already, Starbucks still has a lot planned for its loyal customer base later this year. The rumors were seemingly sparked earlier this month after insiders teased the new boba refreshers with popular food news pages on social media.

Following the rumor earlier this month, a Starbucks barista took to a popular Reddit thread with tremendous news. Their branch had received some of the components to make the new boba drinks, so naturally, they had to post some pictures online.

“WE GOT BOBA!!” they wrote. “Coming this summer, our new summer refresher with boba!!!”

Alongside the exciting statement that seemingly confirmed earlier rumors, the unnamed employee posted four pictures featuring the brightly colored concoction.

The news sparked a great reaction from Starbucks fans as other employees admitted to still waiting for the tapioca pearls to arrive.

“Omg, y’all got the boba pearls!?!?! My store only got the base we won’t get it till like a week before the launch,” one barista wrote, to which another responded, “We didn’t get pearls either ughhhh.”

Though the drinks are still yet to be confirmed by an official Starbucks spokesperson, insiders have reported four new beverages heading to US stores. They are the Summer-Berry Starbucks Refresher, Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher, and Summer Skies Drink Refresher. Starbucks has also teased a White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew.

A busy week at Starbucks

If the new boba drinks still seem like miles away, then you could tickle the itch with the brand’s new spicy refreshers, which they said were inspired by the trend of combining spicy and sweet things.

Currently, the new spicy concoctions are available in spicy dragonfruit, spicy pineapple, and spicy strawberry. Starbucks is also whipping up a specialty spicy cold foam for their cold brews.

So far, reviews have been pretty positive considering the unique combination of flavors. If you’re apprehensive about the spicy, then do not fear as customers have reported the heat being manageable and “not overpowering.”

On X, formally known and preferred as Twitter, one person said: “Wait the spicy lemonade from Starbucks kinda slaps…”

“Spicy is having such a moment – Starbucks just dropped Spicy refreshers yesterday,” another said.

A third issued the following statement: “Starbucks spicy dragonfruit drink is where it’s at fr.”
