Report: Arsenal considering 'super fast' £69m striker with 26 goals this season, same agent as Lokonga

Viktor Gyokeres, Ivan Toney, Dusan Vlahovic, Benjamin Sesko and plenty more no.9’s have been linked with a move to Arsenal ahead of the summer. Now, Arsenal could sign an in-form Belgian forward.

Arsenal are expected to be in the market for a new centre-forward in the summer with Gabriel Jesus struggling to provide the goals required, suffering with injuries. Kai Havertz is better maybe a bit deeper.

Plenty of options are likely to be assessed ahead of the summer, and a new name is now being linked – in the form of Leipzig’s Belgium star Lois Openda. He only joined Leipzig last summer, from RC Lens.

Starring for Lens, Leipzig made their move and he has been on fire this term. The “super-fast” striker has scored a whopping 26 goals this season, and laid on six assists, in just 40 appearances for Leipzig.

Arsenal considering expensive move for Leipzig’s Lois Openda

That has attracted the attention of Arsenal who continue to scour Europe for their next no.9. A report fromJeunes Footeux claims 24-year-old Openda is on the list – despite being valued at a huge £69m.

Arsenal are not the only Premier League club to be linked with Openda. Earlier in the season, Tottenham were said to be considering the Belgium international – but, his price tag is likely to our Spurs off.

Arsenal are more than able to afford a move for Openda. But the report states that despite his goals in Germany, he is not a priority – even though Arsenal are showing interest in landing the quick forward.

Why Albert Sambi Lokonga could help Arsenal do a deal

Openda would be a wonderful signing, even if incredibly expensive. He might prove cheaper than some of the other strikers being linked with The Gunners. He has a contract at Leipzig until the summer of 2028.

Lokonga, currently out on loan at Luton, might be able to help a deal for Openda given the two players are represented by the same agency. Arsenal have clearly had to do business with that agency in the past.

If they do pursue a move for Openda, then knowing Lokonga’s agency will help. Whether they can tempt Leipzig into accepting a bid in the summer remains to be seen. He’d be a super addition in North London.
