In the USA, near the New York courthouse where the trial of former President of the United States Donald Trump was taking place, a man set himself on fire, according to Reuters.

A witness at the scene recounted hearing initially the man tossing pamphlets into the air, then witnessing him douse himself with a canister and set himself on fire. According to eyewitnesses, the man was engulfed in flames for several minutes.

"It's hard to even process in your brain," the witness said.

A representative of the New York Emergency Services stated that the individual was taken away on a stretcher after presumably setting themselves on fire.

The cause of the incident is currently unknown.

Trial of Trump

In the USA, there is an ongoing legal process related to $130,000 in payments made by Trump's company to his former lawyer Michael Cohen.

According to the allegations, the lawyer purportedly transferred money on behalf of Trump to prevent the pornographic actress Stormy Daniels from disclosing her claims of sexual relations with Trump ten years ago. Trump himself denies the occurrence of this encounter.

However, prosecutors argue that the payments to Cohen were erroneously recorded as legal fees. The prosecution labeled these payments as part of a scheme to conceal scandalous stories that Trump feared could aid his opponent in the 2016 elections.
