Oregon State transfer Talia von Oelhoffen is changing the game, literally. On Friday, the highly-coveted graduate guard announced her top four transfer destinations with a clever edit of the game, Fortnite.
Instead of the wildly popular game’s typical towns, von Oelhoffen’s edit included the logos of her four potential landing spots. The list included Louisville, Colorado, USC and Kentucky.
Whoever lands von Oelhoffen will certainly level up. The 5-foot-11 junior averaged 10.7 points, 5.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game this past season. For her efforts, von Oelhoffen was named an All-Pac-12 First Team member and All-Pac-12 Defensive Team honorable mention.
Along with her decision to enter the transfer portal, Talia von Oelhoffen released a heartfelt message to fans.
“I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I feel for the love and support you have shown me over the past 3 years,” von Oelhoffen wrote. “It has been a joy to play in front of you and to represent this university. I wouldn’t trade the experiences I’ve had and the relationships I’ve built here for anything. All of the ups & downs have made me into the person I am today, and for that, I am beyond grateful.
“I can confidently say I gave everything I had to leave this program better than I found it, and I have learned and grown so much along the way. No one can take away what our team was able to do this year, and I will never forget how special it was to be a part of it. This team’s impact on me will last a lifetime. Given the circumstances, I have decided that it is best for me & my future to close this chapter of my life. I will be entering the portal as a graduate transfer to use my last year of eligibility elsewhere.
“I am proud that I will be a graduate and alumni of this amazing university. Corvallis will always be a home away from home, and the people whose paths I was lucky enough to cross will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of a community that is truly 1 of 1.”
Oregon State finished this past season with a 27-8 record, ultimately falling to South Carolina in the Elite Eight. The Beavers will face the unknown next season as ten members of the Pac-12 will move on to other conferences.
