In Ukraine, there were 102 combat clashes on the front line over the day. The enemy actively stormed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on three fronts in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian army attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 29 missiles and 67 aerial strikes, as well as conducted 67 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of our troops and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. Several multi-story buildings and other objects of civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.
During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another massive strike on Ukraine, using cruise missiles of various types. Details of this terrorist attack are being clarified.
During the past day, the following settlements were subjected to aerial strikes:
- Volfyne, Sumy region;
- Senkove, Kharkiv region;
- Bilohorivka, Luhansk region;
- Ivanivka, Yampolivka, Torske, Spirne, Druzhba, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Druzhkivka, New York, Yuriivka, Novopokrovske, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Urozhaine, Staromayorske, Donetsk region;
- Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne,Zaporizhzhia region;
- Ivanivka, Kherson region.
More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.
In the Lyman direction, the Russians attacked our defenders 13 times in the areas of the settlements of Tverdokhlibove and Kremіnna in the Luhansk region, and Yampolivka, Terni, and Torske in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 23 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bіlohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 31 attacks near the settlements of Novokalynove, Ocheretine, Berdychi, Umanske, Novobakhmutivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, our military continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Pobieda, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with air support, attempted to breach our troops' defenses 23 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked our defenders' positions 5 times in the area of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the past day, the enemy carried out 7 unsuccessful attacks on our troops' positions.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation struck 6 areas of personnel concentration and 1 enemy command post.
According to ISW data, the Russians are actively pressing under Chasiv Yar and Avdiivka.
On the evening of April 19, the aggressor launched a missile strike on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Sumy.
