Struck multiple times: Russia launches mass missile attack on Odesa region

Russian forces launched a mass missile strike on the Odesa region on April 20. Specifically, Odesa was hit by ballistic missiles, according to the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.

First wave

At dawn on April 20, Russian forces directed guided aviation missiles Kh-59 from tactical aircraft towards the Odesa region.

"Both targets were destroyed in the Black Sea waters," military officials reported.

Second wave

Later, in the morning, the occupiers launched a ballistic strike from the temporarily occupied Crimea towards Odesa.

"An infrastructure object was hit. Information on the extent of damage and casualties is being clarified," added the Defense Forces.

Air defense operations

It's worth noting that on the night of April 20, Russian forces conducted a new combined attack on Ukraine, using drones and missiles.

Overall, Russia targeted Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, two guided surface-to-air missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region, and two guided aviation missiles Kh-59/Kh-69 from the Black Sea waters. The air defense system destroyed two Kh-59/Kh-69 missiles and three reconnaissance drones in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

An explosion occurred in Odesa on April 20. The air defense system was active in the region.
