Ukraine is interested in Brazil's participation in the Global Peace Summit. It will take place in June in Switzerland, noted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Brazilian journalists.

The head of state emphasized that Ukraine is interested in Brazil's active participation, particularly President Lula da Silva, in the first Global Peace Summit.

"I believe that his presence there, like any leader of any country in the world who receives an invitations, says that they, these people, want peace. It should be just peace for Ukraine," Zelenskyy noted.

The President also thanked journalists for coming to Ukraine. Zelenskyy once again invited the President of Brazil to visit Ukraine.

The head of state also recalled that he met with Lula da Silva in September 2023 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

Ambiguous statements from the Brazilian leader

It is worth noting that earlier, the President of Brazil announced readiness to mediate between Ukraine and Russia and even presented his "peace plan". However, Kyiv viewed this skeptically due to the politician's somewhat pro-Russian views.

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized his desire to personally meet with the Brazilian leader and even expressed readiness to visit Brazil if there was an official invitation. However, Lula da Silva ignored Zelenskyy's words, as well as his invitation to visit Ukraine.
