A manager who Sir Jim Ratcliffe is apparently desperate to have at Manchester United is now keen to replace Ten Hag.
There are huge doubts over the Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford after a truly miserable campaign, which saw Manchester United finish bottom of Group A in the UEFA Champions League behind Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail has even claimed that a decision has already been made, and Erik ten Hag will be sacked.

Zinedine Zidane wants to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
Well – according to L’Equipe – Zinedine Zidane wants the Manchester United job.
It comes after Foot Mercato in France claimed that Ratcliffe is desperate to have the 51-year-old in the Old Trafford dugout next season.
The French news outlet add that the 71-year-old has even spoken internally about replacing Ten Hag with Zidane this summer.
L’Equipe state that Bayern Munich are also keen to hire the Frenchman – who has won 190 of his 301 games in football management.
However, Zidane prefers the vacancy – well, expected vacancy – at Manchester United, as L’Equipe state that the man from Marseille holds some reservations about the German language and life in Bavaria, with a move to England currently more attractive.
The Ratcliffe target has not managed since leaving Real Madrid in May 2021 – his second stint in charge of Los Blancos – where he lifted three UEFA Champions Leagues.

One option has slipped away
Julian Nagelsmann has also been strongly linked as a replacement for Ten Hag.
It was the Independent who recently claimed that the German is on Ratcliffe’s shortlist.
However, Nagelsmann has now decided to sign a contract extension to remain in charge of the German National Team until 2026.
