17-year-old Manchester United gem scores first U21 goal, his teammates react

Manchester United U21s drew 2-2 with Spurs on Saturday in the U21 Premier League, in which one 17-year-old scored his first goal.

With the Manchester United U18 side now Premier League North champions, it’s expected that several of this group will be moving up to the U21s.

We’ve already seen multiple players do excellently well across both age groups, but now there’s a new player who’s risen to the increased challenge.

It’s Gabriele Biancheri who is the latest player to make the move up from U18 to U21 and find instant success.

The 17-year-old Welshman who was signed in January 2023 scored his first goal as a U21 player.

Gabriele Biancheri scores for Manchester United U21s

The U21s aren’t quite enjoying the season that the U18s had, sitting 14th and now 18 points off Spurs who are top.

But with multiple U18s in the side against Spurs on Saturday, the Red Devils secured a 2-2 draw.

Ruben Curley opened the scoring for United which happened to be an equaliser in the 18th minute from central midfield. It was an excellent strike from range which left the Spurs keeper no chance.

United’s second game in the 25th minute, through Biancheri who grabbed his 16th goal of the season and first for the U21s, courtesy of a Ethan Williams assist.

It was also Williams’ 24th goal contribution of what has been an excellent season.

Spurs found an equaliser, but a point is a very strong result for United and the goal will be huge for Biancheri.

After the game, his teammates reacted on Instagram.
