'It's disgusting'...Tim Sherwood slams 'terrible' Sheffield United players after seeing them v Burnley

Sheffield United were batted by Burnley this afternoon in yet another embarrassing display in front of the home fans at Bramall Lane.

Despite starting well enough in the game, United once again crumbled and showed the same pattern they have all season in conceding quick-fire goals.

The Blades got back into it early in the second half through Gus Hamer but it meant nothing in the end as more woeful defending left United out of the game completely.

Once again, individual mistakes as well as another questionable performance from goalkeeper Ivo Grbic, meant Burnley were by far the superior side.

And watching on for Sky Sports, former Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood slammed the Blades defenders after seeing the Clarets score their third.

“You cannot defend like this, it is disgusting defending – it is terrible and you cannot survive defending like that,” Sherwood said.

United have now conceded 88 goals in what has been a shambolic season overall.

Quite where the team go after this, remains to be seen.

Sheffield United are a shambles and the summer is huge

It’s getting impossible and almost demoralising even just having to write about this current Sheffield United side.

Yet again, the same pattern of play was on show as the team made a positive enough start before limping along and being hammered.

The switch to a back four didn’t work. It never does, and quite why Wilder made that call after we’d done ok in recent weeks is baffling.

The goalkeeper looks absolutely miles off being a player capable of succeeding at any level, while it’s clear as day the likes of Vini Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic have no interest in being here.

This summer is going to be huge.

The problem now is we find ourselves questioning if Chris Wilder is even the right man for the job.

Time will tell, but this has been another rude awakening for a squad who in the main, should be hanging their heads in shame.
