Report: £300k-a-week Man City player now has decided he wants to leave this summer

One Manchester City player has reportedly decided that he will leave the club this summer.

Over the past few years, the Blues have seen some big-name players make moves away from the Etihad Stadium such as Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez among others.

Now though, it has been claimed that another key figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad could be set to wave goodbye to the club once the season comes to an end.

According to a recent report from AS, Bernardo Silva has decided that he will leave City at the end of the season.

The report also adds that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain could trigger the £50m release clause in Silva’s contract.

The midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from City during the previous summer transfer window.

In fact, Jack Grealish was spotted during the Citizens’ Treble celebrations, begging the former Monaco star to stay at the club.

After that, he ended up staying with the Blues and put pen to paper on a new contract extension that would keep him at the club until 2026.

It would be a bis blow for City to lose Bernardo Silva

Since joining City back in 2017, the Portuguese international has made 347 appearances across all competitions prior to today’s FA Cup semi-final match against Chelsea.

During his time at the Manchester club, Silva, who is picking up a weekly wage of £300k-a-week, has scored 65 goals, provided 61 assists and win numerous domestic and European titles.

This shows how much of a vital cog he has been in City’s success and why his potential summer exit would be a big blow for the team.

Moving forward, we feel that if Silva’s release clause does get triggered this summer, the club need to make sure they bring in a replacement who will be just as effective as the 29-year-old is and has been for such a long time.
