'I think': Journalist believes Nottingham Forest 'huge talent' is now worth more than £50m

Murillo has been one of the standout Nottingham Forest performers this season and now Dean Jones has shared how much he thinks the club will ask for should they sell him.

It’s going to be a summer of uncertainty at the City Ground. Forest still have financial fair play loitering over them and the sale of at least one star player looks inevitable.

Murillo has been in fine form during 2023/24. He arrived at the City Ground having played little senior football but now he’s being courted by a number of clubs in the Premier League.

Forest fought off competition from Manchester City to sign Murillo. He cost the club just short of £11 million and ultimately he’s proved an absolute steal.

Now, it’s been mentioned by Jones how much Forest could demand if it comes to selling Murillo in the summer.

Journalist shares how much Forest will command for Murillo

Well, it’s a shame but it does feel as though Forest will have to cash in on Murillo during the summer transfer window.

Now, Dean Jones has explained his opinion on the whole situation surrounding Murillo – sharing how much he thinks Forest will command for the centre-back.

He toldGive Me Sport: “Murillo’s breakout has been one of the best in the Premier League this season. If you were to consider players who have made an impact this season, I think you could only say that Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo and Conor Bradley would compete as players who have come from almost nowhere to become household names.

“Murillo is a huge talent, and even though there are new stories around suggesting a £20 million price tag, that is well below what Forest would be looking for. I think upwards of £50 million would be a better estimate given what we have seen.”

Murillo magic will be sorely missed at Forest

It’s going to be a sad day when Murillo leaves Forest but this is what clubs like the Reds are up against in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has showcased an almost unique set of skills as a centre-back and dribbles extremely well for a defender.

Who Scored shows that no other central defender has completed as many dribbles as Murillo and Forest did extremely well to get him.

A fee of £50 million will be hard to turn down and with Forest in a financial fair play predicament, it looks likely that he will go.

In the short term, Murillo will hope to leave Forest with the club still in the Premier League as they bid to survive.

The left-footer continues to see his stock rise and hopefully, the club can stand firm on this valuation for the defender.
