Oliver Glasner has just done something that no other Crystal Palace manager has in the PL against West Ham

Crystal Palace had another afternoon to remember as the Eagles beat West Ham 5-2, seeing Oliver Glasner become the first Palace manager in Premier League history to achieve one thing.

Crystal Palace recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season against West Ham, beating David Moyes’ side 5-2 at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.

After beating Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, Oliver Glasner led his team into the fixture against the Hammers with confidence, something that was translated onto the pitch as the Eagles scored four in the first half.

Goals from Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Jean Philippe-Mateta and an own goal courtesy of Emerson saw the hosts go in 4-1 up at halftime, with the final score ending 5-2 to cap off a wonderful day for Palace.

Not only did Glasner ensure that his side secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season, but also did something for the first time in Palace’s Premier League history against West Ham.

What Crystal Palace did for the first time in Premier League history against West Ham

By scoring four in the first half, Glasner became the first Palace manager to see his side score four times in the opening 45 minutes.

It was the first time in Premier League history that Crystal Palace have scored four goals in the first half, telling of both the squad’s quality on the day, and how much the players are enjoying the manager’s system.

While the display against Liverpool was impressive due to the patience and maturity shown by Palace, the victory over West Ham was magnificent for opposing reasons, as the Eagles ran the visitors ragged throughout the contest.

Crystal Palace were brilliant against West Ham

Glasner seems to have struck gold in finding the best formation for his squad at Selhurst Park, with the front three in particular ticking.

It’s impressive for the Eagles considering that last week was the first time Glasner has been able to partner Eze, Olise and Mateta, with the trio lauded as “magnificent” for their antics at Anfield by Alan Shearer.

Their form continued against West Ham, as Glasner continues to reap the benefits of having the talents of Eze and Olise at his disposal, with Mateta hitting searing form of late for the Eagles.

Last week the manager became the first manager to win at Anfield all season, and this week he became the first Palace boss in Premier League history to see his side net four in the first half, hopefully a sign of things to come.
