Melania Trump on Sunday made her first public statement on X/Twitter in more than a month and a half, and users of the social media site used the opportunity to mock the former first lady.

Melania Trump, who has been at times distanced from the campaign of her husband Donald Trump, over the weekend shared a recent article from Fox News entitled, "Melania Trump says US 'must unite' ahead of Mar-a-Lago Log Cabin Republicans event."

Along with the article, the ex-first lady wrote, "As we look toward the future and the challenges that lie ahead, we must come together around the principles of liberty, justice, and patriotism."

She then added, "By uniting in our common goals, we can create a brighter and more promising future for all."

One popular account, @Papi_B_Dubs, shared the post, saying, "Look kids, Melania Trump showing what a Stockholm Syndrome Statement looks like."

Another popular user, a purported Navy veteran going by @BrunoAmato_1, asked, "Did Melania steal this quote from Michelle Obama again?"

@KuckelmanAshley replied, "Your broke, criminal, convicted r----- sugar daddy isn’t a patriot."

@Alan78174572, described as a former Air Force officer, raised the suggestion that Melania didn't write the public post.

"I'd bet $100 that she didn't write that. Some ghost writer did that for her," he then added.

Others were just stunned that Melania posted anything at all.

"She talks???" wrote an account account with the handle @sayitloudsayi.

Prior to this statement by Melania on Sunday, the last item that's posted to her official account dates back to March 8.

On that day, she posted about Mother's Day.

"I applaud those who exhibit courage, stand firm in their beliefs, & strive for excellence," she wrote of women at the time. "Let us remember that true greatness lies in embracing our unique selves & staying true to our values."
