Mikel Arteta praises ‘unbelievable’ Wolves man

Despite a relatively good performance, Wolves were not able to overcome Arsenal on Saturday night. A goal in either half was enough for the Gunners to come away with a 2-0 victory at Molineux and condemn O’Neil’s side to a defeat.

However, the Arsenal boss was full of praise for his opponents. Before the game, Arteta was wary of the threat Wolves possessed and was very complimentary of O’Neil.

The manager stated that the Englishman had done an ‘unbelievable’ job and has turned his team into a really difficult side to beat.

Wolves’ former manager Lopetegui is yet to find a job since walking out of Molineux. The former Real Madrid boss left the club just days before the start of the season over a dispute with FFP.

Despite plenty of links throughout the current campaign, Lopetegui is yet to take charge of another club with him reportedly keen on another job in the Premier League.

However, it seems as if his services will be taken elsewhere with the Spaniard now eyeing the job at AC Milan.

Despite all of the success this season, one major problem that has let Wolves down is injuries.

Multiple stars have been forced onto the sidelines throughout 2024 with O’Neil stating that he only had ‘10 fit senior players’ ahead of the Arsenal clash.

Thankfully, after the result, the manager was able to provide a positive update with the club ‘hopeful’ that Matheus Cunha will be back for Wednesday’s match.
