Coventry City fans mercilessly booed one Man Utd star during post-match interview, he was completely unfazed

Coventry City fans booed one Manchester United star during his post-match interview after Mark Robins’ men crashed out of the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

Manchester United avoided a massive FA Cup upset after squandering a 3-0 lead against Coventry City in regular playing time at Wembley.

Scott McTominay had fired United into the lead in the FA Cup semi-final tie before Harry Maguire doubled his side’s advantage in first-half injury time.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes then added United’s third after the break, as the Red Devils looked all but certain to reach the FA Cup final next month.

However, Coventry rallied back into the contest late into the second half and stunned United fans inside Wembley with their comeback in regular time.

Goals from Ellis Simms, Callum O’Hare and Haji Wright for Coventry forced the tie into extra time, with United coming close to crashing out of the FA Cup.

Erik ten Hag’s men were fortunate enough not to taste defeat in extra time after VAR ruled out a late winner for Coventry ahead of the penalty shootout.

However, United were able to secure their place in the final after beating Championship side Coventry 4-2 in the shootout at Wembley.

Coventry fans boo Man Utd star

Manchester United face defending FA Cup champions Manchester City in the final at Wembley next month after edging out Coventry City in the semi-finals.

Erik ten Hag’s side crossed paths with Manchester City in the FA Cup final last season and came up short after suffering a 2-1 defeat in 2023.

Casemiro, who played in defence for United, was the only Red Devils player to miss a penalty during the shootout win against Coventry.

Diogo Dalot, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund all stepped up for United and all of them converted from the spot.

Coventry, on the other hand, saw Callum O’Hare’s effort denied by Andre Onana before Ben Sheaf blazed his strike over the target in the penalty shootout.

Andre Onana impressed with his performance during the Coventry match and the United star stepped up for the big occasion during the shootout.

The 28-year-old Cameroon international was even booked during penalties, with Onana appearing to psyche out Ben Sheaf before his spot-kick effort.

The Daily Mail’s TikTok account has since posted footage of Coventry fans mercilessly booing Onana during his post-match interview on the pitch.

Onana on his booking for Man Utd

Onana appeared unfazed during his post-match interview, despite being met by boos from the Coventry fans over his antics during the shootout.

Referee Robert Jones booked the United No 1 for his behaviour during penalties, which was Onana’s second booking in the contest.

However, Onana won’t be banned for the final of the FA Cup and wasn’t sent off due to bookings resetting before a penalty shootout.

The former Ajax and Inter Milan star admitted that he was “aware of the rules” and took advantage of them to ensure his side reached the FA Cup final.

“Before the penalties, I knew that my first yellow card had been cancelled, so I was aware of the rules,” Onana said.

“I had to make some provocation to some players and to use my tricks to win the game, so I’m happy for that.”
