Kelly Osbourne denies Ozempic use after losing over six stone following birth of son

Kelly Osbourne has denied taking Ozempic after losing more than six stone following the birth of her son.

The 39-year-old lost 85 pounds in the months after she welcomed Sidney, who she shares with boyfriend and Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson, back in 2022, but insisted the weight loss was down to sheer hard work. “I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don’t know where that came from. My mom (Sharon Osbourne) took Ozempic,” Kelly explained.

Earlier this year, she heaped praise on the controversial weight loss drug, which is delivered via injection and was originally for diabetes patients to help manage their insulin levels, but Kelly explained that her weight loss was down to cutting out carbs to help her shift the pounds. “I had gestational diabetes and I had to lose the weight that I had gained during pregnancy.

"Otherwise I was at a higher risk of actually getting diabetes, which I did not want. I cut out sugar and carbohydrates and I rapidly lost weight,” she told Extra.

Back in January, she spoke to E! News about the weight loss drug that has been adopted by many celebrities in Hollywood to help them lose weight quickly. “I think it’s amazing. There are a million ways to lose weight. Why not do it through something that isn’t as boring as working out?” Kelly said. Her mother Sharon has used the drug in the past, and Oprah Winfrey has used another diabetes medication to lose weight after years of struggling with yo-yo diets.

“People hate on it because they want to do it. And the people who hate on it the most are the people who are secretly doing it or p*ssed off that they can’t afford it. Unfortunately, right now it’s something that is very expensive, but it eventually won’t be because it actually works,” Kelly added. Her opinion on the weight loss drug hasn’t been affected by mother Sharon’s experience with Ozempic, as she admitted that she’s suffered from serious side effects.

“I was very sick for a couple of months,” the 71-year-old explained on The Talk. “The first couple of months, I just felt nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, whatever.” She lost more than 40 pounds using Ozempic, and despite having side effects, has no regrets about taking the diabetes medication. “I don’t regret it. Everything with weight with me was, ‘I want it now,’” she said on Loose Women back in January. “The injections that I was on worked, but it just seems that now I can’t put anything on really.”
