N.J. driver killed in crash after running stop sign, cops say

A 32-year-old man was killed after he ran a stop sign and crashed Friday night in Hammonton, authorities said.

Erick Barahona-Pinedo nearly caused a collision when he went thought the stop sign on North Egg Harbor Road at the intersection of East Orchard Street at about 10 p.m., Hammonton police said.

Barahona-Pinedo then crashed and overturned into an embankment on North Egg Harbor Road near the corner of North Chew Road, officials said.

Barahona-Pineda, of Hammonton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
