'Honestly': James Forrest makes claim about Hampden semi-final that might surprise the Celtic fans

James Forrest is one of Celtic’s most decorated players of all time.

The legendary winger has amassed eleven Scottish Premiership titles, seven Scottish Cups and seven League Cups. [Transfermarkt]

He has also won the PFA Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and been named in three PFA Scotland Team of the Year’s in 2012, 2018 and 2019.

So it is fair to say that over the course of his career, Forrest has been involved in many brilliant Celtic moments over his career at the club.

However, on Saturday, Forrest made a claim about the semi-final that will surely surprise the Celtic fans.

Forrest ‘never experienced’ a game like Saturday before

James Forrest was brought on as a second-half substitute and made an instant impact as he put Celtic ahead in the 63rd minute.

Aberdeen pulled back level twice late on and the game was finally decided on penalties in which Joe Hart came out as the hero.

But Forrest reckons that over the course of his illustrious Celtic career, he has never experienced a game like he did at Hampden on Saturday.

Forrest said [Premier Sports], “Honestly I always think every season has always got something different and then and then this season again, I’ve been here for so long, but this is, yeah I’ve never experienced anything like this.

“So it’s great to be a part of and as I said, we’ve got the last we push now.

“Five League games and a cup final to look forward to so we’re all excited for that.”

James Forrest’s Hampden Celtic wins

When you look at the history of James Forrest at Hampden, especially in the Scottish Cup, he has been involved in some seriously big Celtic wins.

The 4-3 extra-time win over Dundee United in 2013 was one of the best cup games I have ever attended. There were also the two wins over Rangers in 2017 (2-0) and 2018 (4-0).

Then there was the 2019 Scottish Cup Final against Hearts that sealed the Treble Treble that Forrest scored in that will go down in history.

In the League Cup, Forrest was also involved in a 2-0 semi-final win over Rangers in 2015 and a 1-0 win over the Ibrox club in 2016.

He also played in that infamous 1-0 League Cup win over the Ibrox club in 2019 which contributed towards the Treble Treble. [Transfermarkt]

So for Forrest to say he’s never experienced a game like it before really is something.
