A Bola: West Ham 1 step away from appointing Amorim with final obstacle no problem for Sullivan

Ruben Amorim could really be joining West Ham United from Sporting CP at the end of this season it seems.

West Ham boss David Moyes is under real pressure right now, and it was claimed yesterday that Ruben Amorim had flown to London to hold talks with the Hammers owners.

The wheels definitely seem to be in motion already to bring the 39-year-old to East London, and it has been claimed that the first Hammer he will sell is Tomas Soucek.

Amorim is a stunning young coach, and he would bring some properly exciting football to the London Stadium, if he does take over.

His footballing philosophy is the antithesis of Moyes’s, and his approach to the game is exactly what we need, if we are to make some progress on to the next level.

News broke from Portugal overnight about one final hurdle in the Hammers’ pursuit of the former Braga boss.

However, it’s great news for fans of the East London outfit…

1 final hurdle to Ruben Amorim joining West Ham

The Hammers fans waking up reading links with the Portuguese coach this morning will think they’re dreaming.

He is such an elite young manager, and is undoubtedly destined for the very top.

If we do appoint him as our new manager, the only way will be up for us. And now another huge boost in the chase to bring Amorim to East London has been revealed for us…

A Bola claim that West Ham are determined to secure the 39-year-old, with Sporting already lining up replacements for him.

The Portuguese publication also claim that the the Primeira Liga side will demand Amorim’s full £17 million release clause – something that ‘will not be an obstacle’ for the Hammers.

However, it’s worth noting that Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that Sporting could be willing to accept around £8.5 million – half of his full release clause.

It remains to be seen which figure ends up being correct. However, the fact that A Bola are claiming that Amorim joining West Ham is edging ever closer because his release clause isn’t an obstacle is such great news for us.

Let’s just hope that the owners do everything within their power to make it happen.
