Trader Joe's is recalling its organic basil sold in 30 states, including in New Jersey, according to the company.

Trader Joe’s is recalling its organic basil sold in 30 states, including in New Jersey, according to the company.

The reason for the recall has to do with the product’s potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Infinite Herbs Organic Basil was sold in 2.5-ounce packages between Feb. 1, 2024, and April 6, 2024.

It was sold in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, District of Columbia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The grocer is asking anyone who has purchased the contaminated basil to throw it away or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
