WhatsApp: Future updates will add contact notes and favourites management

A new beta version of the popular messenger WhatsApp has been released with version number 2.24.7.19, which adds new functions to the messenger. It means you can attach a message to a specific contact.

WhatsApp Contact Notes

WABetaInfo has noticed that WhatsApp is developing a new feature for the messenger where users can attach a specific note to contacts.

The new box, known simply as ‘contact notes’ is currently in development and will be available in a future update of WhatsApp Web as well as the WhatsApp beta for Android.

This free text box will allow you, or businesses, to make a personalised note to help you remember someone. You could, for example, add where you met someone or a mutual friend so a quick memory jog about who you are talking to isn’t far away.

New favourites management

In the WhatsApp beta for Android with build number 2.24.7.18, the developer had already integrated a favourites function for the “Calls” section in the messenger to improve the process of prioritising and accessing important contacts and groups directly from the tab – a phone call with the most important contacts is now just a tap away.

In the latest beta update, WhatsApp is expanding this function even further and adding a management function to the favourites function.

In future, users will be able to select, organise and remove their favourite contacts and groups directly in the app settings – making it much easier. Favourites can also be managed completely without opening the “Calls” tab.
